MILAN TWP. (WWJ) - Investigators from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an early morning home invasion and felonious assault in Milan Township.

According to police, three males forcibly entered the residence on North County Line Road around 3:50 a.m. Thursday and robbed the home owner and son.

Police say during the crime, one of the suspects assaulted the homeowner with a weapon, before fleeing in the owner’s vehicle. The suspects also stole an assortment of items from the home.

Monroe County Detectives along with the canine unit were called out to the scene for further investigation, and determined the home invasion was not a random act and may have been a drug related incident.

Now, police are asking for the public’s assistance to help locate the suspects.

The stolen vehicle is a 2003 four-door, black Mazda Protege with Michigan license plate number “2JKS95.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe County Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530.
