Ypsilanti Twp. Shooting Suspects In Custody

Southfield (WWJ)- The Washtenaw County Sheriff Department had two people in custody after three people were shot at an Ypsilanti Township Elks Lodge. 

Investigators say the shooting happened around 2 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the lodge on Ecorse Road.  It's unclear what prompted the shooting.  An investigation is ongoing. 

Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department spokesman Derrick Jackson said a 48-year old suspect was in custody and a second man wanted and believed to be involved, and identified by deputies as Leon Freeman, turned himself in to authorities Saturday afternoon.  Freeman had been shot and is getting medical attention. 

The three men who were wounded are expected to survive. 

Charges against the two suspects are pending.
