Khang: A State Divided
This Saturday is the annual Michigan/Michigan State game. So for the next week not only will the state be divided but also workplaces, households and even friends.
It will be a week of put downs, tasteless jokes and arguing amongst usually normal members of society. Apparently if you grew up in Michigan and didn't go to either school you still must choose a side. Well I am choosing to take a stand!
I didn't go to either school so I have no real connection with either school. If I choose to root for Michigan I will be considered a "Walmart Wolverine". If I choose to root for Michigan State I would be called a "Save-A-Lot Sparty". No thanks -- I know people say you can't do it, but my rooting interest changes yearly. I don't care what either fan base thinks.
I will usually root for the team with the best chance for a national championship no matter what the sport. And if neither school has that chance there's one thing that I always root for...an exciting, entertaining and memorable game.
