Teen Stopped Going 123 MPH On I-94

JACKSON (AP) - Police say a speedy 16-year-old boy from suburban Detroit was stopped for going 123 mph in a 70 mph zone in the Jackson area.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports the boy who got his driver's license two months ago was pulled over Sunday morning on westbound Interstate 94 while driving a 2011 BMW.

The West Bloomfield Township resident told police he was heading to Chicago. He was cited for speed, careless driving and improper lane use, and his parents were contacted.

Police say he wasn't taken into custody.
