Police: Canton Homeowner Shoots Intruder
CANTON (WWJ) - A Canton homeowner shot and injured an intruder who was attempting to break into his home Wednesday afternoon. It happened on Townsend Court near Ford and Ridge roads.
Police say the homeowner heard someone breaking into his home just before 1 p.m. so he got his gun and when he was confronted by the burglar, he fired. The suspect was shot in the leg. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The homeowner wasn't physically hurt.
Canton police will forward a report to the Wayne County Prosecutor's office to determine if charges will be filed.
The case remains under investigation.
