Peter Karmanos Has Lofty Goals For "Live Downtown"

DETROIT (WWJ) - On "Michigan Matters" on WWJ-TV, Compuware founder and CEO Peter Karmanos discusses a new five-year program called "Live Downtown," designed to entice people to move to Detroit.

People will be offered incentives of up to $25,000 to purchase housing, or $2,500 to rent. Karmanos says "Live Downtown" has a lofty goal:

"It's very important if you want to revitalize the city, that we have, even as much as 100,000 people living between downtown and the new center area, and you'll be amazed at what can happen with that kind of momentum," said Karmanos.

Catch "Michigan Matters" at 11 o'clock Sunday mornings on WWJ-TV, CBS in Detroit.
