Services Planned For Officer Killed In Line Of Duty

GRAND RAPIDS (AP) – Services are set for a West Michigan officer struck and killed by two fleeing bank robbers.

Visitation for Walker court officer Trevor Slot is scheduled Wednesday and Thursday at the Third Reformed Church in Grand Rapids.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Resurrection Life Church in Grandville. A procession through the town of Walker, five miles northwest of Grand Rapids, will follow.

The 41-year-old Slot was killed Thursday while laying down spike strips to stop the speeding sport utility vehicle on Interstate 96 in Ottawa County.
