Detroit Casinos, Union Reach Tentative Contract Deal

DETROIT (WWJ) - A tentative contract deal has been reached between Detroit three casinos and the unions representing hundreds of workers.

The Detroit Casino Council told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the tentative deal was reached Wednesday and a ratification vote could come as early as Friday.

The deal was reached as labor talks received a second extension in the past three days. The new deadline was reset for 12 a.m. Thursday, but obviously the tentative deal negates the needs for that.

MGM Grand, Greektown Casino and MotorCity Casino Hotel have been negotiating since Sunday. Workers at all five unions had authorized a strike if negotiations had failed.

Stay tuned to WWJ for the latest on the developing story.
