Deadly Weekend On Metro Detroit Freeways

WWJ Newsradio 950’s Beth Fisher created this round up of deadly weekend accidents.

Two Oakland University students are dead and a third is hospitalized after an accident on I-75 near Clay Avenue in Detroit Saturday afternoon.  The crash shut down southbound I-75 for a time.  An 18-year-old woman from Romeo and a 19-year-old Leonard woman were killed.  Oakland University plans to have grief counselors on hand.

I-94 was closed briefly by another fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a car.  It happened on eastbound I-94 and Ecorse Road and one person was killed.

A 24-year-old Auburn Hills woman was killed after she lost control of her pick-up truck and flipped on the I-75 ramp to M-59 on Saturday.

  1. Crash McCar says:

Detroit drivers were busy violating the laws of dynamics this weekend. Again, understanding vehicle dynamics including tire friction, lateral force due to curvature and dynamic instability would help when driving a car. Driver-in-the-loop control feedback is critical too along with using electronic devices and not paying attention. But the people referenced above won’t have to worry about vehicle dynamics anymore
