State DNR Endorses Online Snowmobile Safety Course

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has endorsed an online snowmobile safety course designed for young operators.

The department says the course offered by Fresh Air Educators Inc. satisfies Michigan's snowmobile safety education requirement for youth. Michigan law requires that children between 12 and 17 years old successfully complete an approved safety training program.

The fee for the narrated, interactive course is $29.95. The state says it provides another option for those interested in taking a course, and complements many traditional in-person classes offered throughout Michigan.

It's the first time the state has endorsed an online course for snowmobile safety.
