Web Site Helps Fight Effort To End Civil Service In Dearborn

DEARBORN — A group of concerned Dearborn citizens has launched the Web site  www.SaveCivilService.com to help ensure that voters are able to make an informed decision about Proposal 3, which is on the ballot for the Dearborn election that will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The Web site includes the Proposal 3 ballot language, which proposes elimination of Dearborn’s Civil Service System. It also includes information about the role of the Civil Service Commission and potential issues if it is eliminated.

“I’m encouraging people to vote ‘No’ on Proposal 3,” said Paula Hamilton-Stokes, a former city employee and charter commissioner. “We need to support representation of the public interest and support Civil Service.”

The public is invited to visit www.SaveCivilService.com and spread the word to family, friends and voters in Dearborn.
