STC To Meet On Professional Recognition: The Southeastern Michigan Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC/SM) will offer a program meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 2 on Opportunities for Professional Recognition for Technical Communicators through STC, a joint program from the West Michigan Shores and Southeastern Michigan chapters of the Society for Technical Communication. The cost is $5 for students and STC members and $10 for the general public. More at www.stc-sm.com. The program features a presentation by Harrison Withers, vice president of the West Michigan Shores chapter, of award-winning online documentation from MediaOne Interactive Inc., and a panel discussion of Maryann Bowen, STC/SM president and STC associate fellow, and Chris Juliet and Nancy Hoffman, STC fellows, about the STC fellowship process and personal experiences as senior members of the Society. The meeting begins at 6 with networking, with introductions at 6:30, followed by the presentation and panel discussion. The meeting will be held in the Agriculture Hall atrium of Michigan State University in East Lansing, on the southwest corner of East Circle Drive, just west of the north end of Farm Lane. Parking is in the lot east and north of Agricultural Hall. This lot can only be accessed by a driveway on the north end of East Circle Drive across from Olin Health Center and adjacent to the Old Horticulture building.
