Negotiations Continue With Uninterrupted Services At MGM Casino

DETROIT (WWJ) - Union negotiators representing MGM Casino workers-- say employees will continue to work ahead of a scheduled meeting with state and federal mediators to talk about their contract.

Thursday, MGM workers overwhelmingly rejected a deal from management that would have given small bonuses and pay increases.

Teamsters spokesman Sean Ellis would not go into specifics about what the employees are requesting -- but did say it will be business as usual this weekend.

"We believe in the process of collective bargaining and so we are very hopeful that the concerns that were raised during yesterday's (Thursday) meeting will be heard during that Monday afternoon session," Ellis said.

Ellis says that the operations will run as they normally do during these negotiations.

Earlier this week,  agreements were reached between the union and the Greektown Casino, as well as the MotorCity Casino-Hotel.
