Separate Incidents Leave A Parent And Student Under Arrest At High School

LAKE ORION (WWJ) - A busy day for police in the Lake Orion area as separate incidents at a high school leave a student and an unrelated parent arrested within hours of one another.

Police report that a parent was arrested at Lake Orion High School after using profanities and threatening the principle of the school on Friday.

The 64-year-old parent was upset that his son was being questioned by school officials about some missing property.

A school liaison deputy M. Simpkinson, says he tried to calm the parent down, but the parent continued the threatening behavior and he was placed under arrest - police citing him as a disorderly person and resisting arrest.

Within hours of the first incident, the deputy  liaison was called to the same school where a 16-year-old student threatened to blow up the school allegedly because he could not get food from the cafeteria.

The student was arrested for disorderly conduct and released to his parents pending a hearing.
