WWJ Michigan Money Summit: Get Free Financial Advice

LIVONIA (WWJ) - Need some financial advice? You can get it for free Saturday morning at the WWJ Michigan Money Summit.

The event will be hosted by WWJ and Fox 2 Business Editor Murray Feldman and will feature experts discussing money, investments, real estate and banking, among other things.

Featured speaker Patrick Ervin, Executive Managing Director of Talmer Bank and Trust, will be offering advice on mortgages.

"A lot of people don't understand that there is an opportunity to refinance, even if their house is under water, and they really have to take a look at that because with rates being at historic lows, it could really help their cash flow," said Ervin.

"They have a new program called 'HARP' ... basically this one says that if you're under water, you can refinance your home. So, after the first of the year, even if your house is 150 percent under water, you may have an opportunity to refinance," he continued.

The event goes from 7:30 a.m. until noon Saturday, Oct. 29 at the VisTaTech Center at Schoolcraft College in Livonia. For more details, click here.
