Son Of Former Lions QB Found Dead

DETROIT (AP) - Students at a Southern California high school are being offered grief counseling after the 18-year-old son of former Detroit Lions quarterback Erik Kramer was found dead at a friend's home.

Thousand Oaks High senior Griffen Kramer died Sunday, according to a statement issued by the school.

Officials say Kramer went to sleep at a friend's house Sunday night and failed to wake the following morning. Alcohol poisoning could be involved. School officials declined to elaborate.

Erik Kramer played ten seasons in the NFL, and was the Lions' starting quarterback in the late 1980s.
