Trailer Fire Mom Found Guilty Of Murder
DETROIT (AP) - A southeastern Michigan woman accused of setting a trailer fire that killed her 3-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son has been found guilty of murder.
A Wayne County Circuit Court jury on Wednesday convicted Sharon Hinojosa of first-degree murder and arson.
Authorities say the then-29-year-old set a fire Oct. 9, 2009, in her boyfriend's Huron Township trailer, about 20 miles southwest of Detroit. Four-year-old Anthony and 3-year-old Alayna Hinojosa were killed.
Authorities say Hinojosa fled with another child.
The murder conviction carries an automatic penalty of life in prison without possibility of parole.
