U-M Police Search For Sex Assault Suspect

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - University Police have released surveillance footage of a man wanted in a sexual assault on campus, in hopes of discovering new information related to the case.

Campus police say the assault took place in an East Quad residence on Oct. 30. The victim told police that around 1:45 a.m., she was walking down the hallway when she was approached from behind by an unknown man. He reached under her clothing and grabbed her buttocks before leaving down a nearby stairwell.

The suspect is described as a black male, college-age or early 20s, 5 feet 7 inches, 170 pounds with dark wavy black hair. He was wearing dark-colored clothing and carrying a dark-colored backpack at the time of the attack.

Anyone with information about the man or the incident is asked to call University Police at 734-763-1131 or the university's anonymous tip line at 800-863-1355.
