World War II Buff Honors Veterans With Replica Models

Southfield (WWJ) - For Sean Tracy of Wixom, Veteran's Day might as well be Christmas morning.

Tracy, a mild-mannered truck driver and World War II buff is determined to fulfill his mission of honoring as many World War II vets as he can by building each one an exact replica model of the warplane or other vehicle to which the vet was assigned.

So far, Tracy hasn't put down the model glue. He recently surprised Bill Carruth, 86 of Royal Oak with a model of the B-29 that Carruth serviced when he was in the Army Air Corps on Saipan. Tracy's also on a mission to build model warcraft to help Michigan Honor Flight raise money for its ongoing effort to fly Michigan veterans to see the World War II monument in Washington D.C. and to build a monument in Royal Oak.
