DETROIT (WWJ) – Area hunters are preparing for firearm hunting season– which starts on Tuesday.
They’re stocking up on supplies at outdoor stores like Gander Mountain in Taylor– where Manager Amber Butler says a slow economy hasn’t slumped sales.
“We’ve been super busy this past week, especially our firearms department, so we’ve been selling a lot of shot guns and rifles. Our ammunitions have been selling off the shelf – we can hardly keep it in stock,” said Butler.
Butler says that sales have not really been effected by the economy … and thinks that people see this as an important past-time and hobby.
About 600,000 Michigan firearm hunters are expected to hit the woods this season.
