Firearm Hunting Season Begins Tuesday
DETROIT (WWJ) - Area hunters are preparing for firearm hunting season-- which starts on Tuesday.
They're stocking up on supplies at outdoor stores like Gander Mountain in Taylor-- where Manager Amber Butler says a slow economy hasn't slumped sales.
"We've been super busy this past week, especially our firearms department, so we've been selling a lot of shot guns and rifles. Our ammunitions have been selling off the shelf - we can hardly keep it in stock," said Butler.
Butler says that sales have not really been effected by the economy ... and thinks that people see this as an important past-time and hobby.
About 600,000 Michigan firearm hunters are expected to hit the woods this season.
