Decision Expected In Case Of 9-Year-Old Driver

WOODHAVEN, Mich. (WWJ) – A decision is expected Tuesday on whether a local dad goes on trial on felony charges, after putting his 9-year-old child in the driver’s seat because he’d been drinking.

WWJ’s Bill Stevens reports 39-year-old Shawn Weimer is charged with child abuse, after allegedly consuming a half bottle of whiskey, then having his 9-year-old daughter drive their full-size van.

While a child can’t legally drive, the issue is whether his actions were likely to cause serious injury or death to his daughter. That’s for a district judge in Woodhaven to decide.

If you already have the sthrmoetat set to auto, then you may need to adjust the fan/limit switch in the furnace (this applies to older furnaces). The fan limit switch is located inside the furnace cabinet. The furnace blower should be set to turn off at around 95 degrees; any lower than that, and the air will feel cold. For safety, these adjustments should be done with power to the furnace turned off at the breaker.
