Art Show Features Work By Former Wing Konstantinov

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - Former Detroit Red Wing Vladimir Konstantinov will greet fans Thursday night at special show in Royal Oak featuring his art.

It's a collection from watercolor to collage, all done by the injured hockey star.

WWJ's Sandra McNeil reports the work is on display at Gallery U -- a storefront gallery feature the work of those who have suffered traumatic brain injuries.

Vocational Director Barbara Hill said she chose 42 works from Konstantinov for the show -- all with animals and seasonal winter themes.

"All of the art is signed directly by him and there will be a certificate of authenticity with each one," said Hill. "I witnessed him signing each and every one of

them," she said.

The piece are prices from $150 to $200 with proceeds to benefit programs that cater to those with brain injuries.

The event runs from 7 - 9:30 p.m. on November 17.
