Michigan 73, Memphis 61

LAHAINA, HAWAII (WWJ) - Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 21 to help lead the Michigan Wolverines to victory over the Memphis Tigers 73-61 Monday during the opening game in the Maui Invitational.

As heard on WWJ Newsradio 950 - No. 15 Michigan (4-0) easily wins the first match-up against No. 8 Memphis Tigers (1-1).

Hardaway topped the Michigan scoring and had 6 rebounds, Trey Burke had 14 points and Zack Novak added 8 - each had 3 rebounds.

"End of the game - we got the win," said Trey Burke on WWJ.

Head coach John Beilein said of Burke's play: "he certainly came out on this stage and played well."

"He (Burke) is very tired ... I don't know if he could say the alphabet after the game," said Beilein about Burke's tireless play.

Charles Carmouche led the the Tigers with 14 pts.  and Will Barton dropped in 9 pts.

Michigan will play Tuesday against Duke - game time 6:30 p.m.
