Bicyclist, Pedestrian Die In Michigan Crashes

LANSING (AP) - Authorities say a bicyclist in West Michigan and a pedestrian in Lansing have died following separate traffic crashes.

The Holland Sentinel and The Grand Rapids Press report that 54-year-old bike rider Donna DeBoe was struck and killed by a vehicle about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday in Zeeland, about 20 miles southwest of Grand Rapids. Police say the driver of the vehicle wasn't injured.

Investigators say the driver likely didn't see DeBoe, who lived in the area.

In Lansing, the Lansing State Journal reports 33-year-old Wana Powell was fatally struck Tuesday night while walking across Interstate 96. Police say it was raining at the time and visibility was poor when she was hit. Her death was under investigation.
