Detroit Science Center To Open For Noel Night
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - The Detroit Science Center says it plans to open for one night next month as part of Midtown's annual Noel Night festivities.
The plans to open for the Dec. 3 events, which take place in and around over 60 of Midtown Detroit's Cultural Center institutions, were announced Wednesday.
Activities include horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday shopping, family craft activities and performances by over 120 area music, theatre and dance groups.
The Detroit Science Center closed Sept. 26 after its board decided an ongoing deficit had created a financial crisis that couldn't be fixed without halting operations. Officials have said a $5 million cash infusion is needed before the facility can reopen to the public.
