Busy Holiday Travel Running Fairly Smooth At Metro Airport

DETROIT (WWJ) - Metro Airport seeing high traffic as people head home on the busiest travel day of the year.   The TSA has staffed up check points and airlines have brought in extra people for check in to ease the congestion.

Still, Mike Conway, who's with Detroit metro, says there will be a lot of cars stacked up at the arrivals curb.

"I always recommend that people - you can avoid the arrivals curb ... parking in the short term because the entrance to short term is beofre the congestion and the exit is after the congestion," said Conway.

The TSA has brought in extra people and security is just about double what it would be for a normal shift says Conway.

Conway says things have been going smoothly and lines haven't been too long.
