Shots Fired In Royal Oak, Police Search Area For Suspect

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) – Royal Oak Police say there was a shooting Saturday night and neighbors of the South Oakland YMCA on 11 mile and Woodward say it may have happened there.

ROPD has confirmed that shots were fired and that no one was hurt.

They wouldn’t say where, but a listener who lives near the YMCA says he saw kids running into the yards across the street around 10 p.m. and that shortly after, police were combing the neighborhood with dogs — apparently looking for a weapon.

Meanwhile traffic reports say police had the area at 11 mile and Woodward blocked off around that time.

The South Oakland YMCA had no comment Sunday morning.
