DETROIT (WWJ) – The Detroit Science Center plans to open for one night next weekend (Saturday) as part of Midtown’s annual Noel Night festivities.
Activities include horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday shopping, family craft activities and performances by more than 100 local music, theatre and dance groups.
The Detroit Science Center closed September 26 after its board decided an ongoing deficit had created a financial crisis that could not be fixed without halting operations.
Officials have said a $5 million cash infusion is needed before the facility can reopen to the public.
