Former Michigan Coach Rodriguez Gives Wildcats Some Hope

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona had a dismal season in the desert, one that included the firing of coach Mike Stoops and the program's most losses in six years.

The Wildcats do have a glimmer of hope: two wins to end the season and a new coach who'll bring plenty of attention to the program.

Opening the season with one win in its first six games, Arizona finished 4-8 and was well back in the Pac-12 South at 2-7.

The Wildcats did knock off rival Arizona State and followed that with a win over Louisiana-Lafayette to close out the season.

Arizona also brought in coach Rich Rodriguez, who had success with his fast-paced offense at West Virginia before three difficult years at Michigan.
