2 Killed, 1 Hurt In East Side Shooting

DETROIT (WWJ) - A yellow brick house was surrounded by caution tape for hours Wednesday morning as Detroit police investigated a triple shooting on the city's northeast side.

Detroit police said the shooting happened at about 9:15 a.m. on Schoenherr just south of 8 Mile Road.

WWJ's Florence Walton reported that the yellow brick house where the shooting took place was surrounded by caution tape for hours as police investigated.

Talking to WWJ Newsradio 950, an EMS official confirmed two people died following the shooting and one more was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Neighbors living near the home where the shooting took place said the house had a lot of traffic and was "bad news."

"There's a family there... a lot of young guys in and out, in and out, at all times of the night," one neighbor said.

"I'm thinking that they used to fight dogs there too because I know its a lot of pit bulls that's there. But other than that, it was just traffic, young people just in and out constantly," said another neighbor.

There were no immediate details regarding the victims or what led to the incident.

Detroit Police Inspector Eric Jones said an investigation is ongoing and no suspects are in custody.
