Aretha Franklin Looking For Musicians To Mentor — Got What It Takes?
Anyone chosen for this very plum mentoring situation can be sure of one thing: You’ll get plenty of R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, is searching for classically trained vocalists and musicians she can mold for her own record label “Aretha’s Records.”
The best part for aspiring musicians is Franklin reportedly plans to be very hands on with the label. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and winner of 18 Grammy awards, will “personally choose the talent she will sign to her label and will personally mentor and oversee the production of their recording and artist development,” according to a release.
For Franklin’s review, talent is encouraged to send in a DVD, CD or cassette of themselves performing an already published song (original material will not be reviewed).
Write your full name, contact information, phone number and email address on the face of DVD, CD or tape. DVD’s, CD’s and tapes must be sent in a regular sized case for filling purposes. Label the spine of the CD or tape case. Also include a recent 8X10 color photograph of yourself with a short biography about you and your musical experience.
Selected talent will be notified by standard mail, e-mail, or phone call.
