Fatal Car/Train Crash In Monroe County

FRENCHTOWN TWP. (WWJ) - A woman has been killed and a child injured after a car collided with a train on Nadeau Road in Monroe County's Frenchtown Township.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials said a woman was driving west on Nadeau when she was hit. The train dragged the vehicle several feet before coming to a stop.

An eight-year-old girl in the car reportedly suffered facial cuts, but was expected to be okay. The signals were operational at the time.
