Tour Beautiful Homes While Helping Christ Child Society

DETROIT (WWJ) - Economic times continue to be challenging for non-profit organizations like Christ Child Society of Detroit.

Mary Dakin with Christ Child Society says they hope to raise $21,000 so they can continue to help boys in the residential treatment center on Joy Road in Detroit. The boys are wards of the State due to abuse or neglect.

The fundraiser is Friday and anyone who buys tickets can tour five Birmingham homes decorated for Christmas.

Some are million dollar homes and all of them are decorated by professionals ... so tour goers can get lots of different ideas on how to decorate:

"So every house has a different ... depending on what the owner wanted to do - has a different style and it's a great way to pick up some decorating tips - because we have professionals, and their information will be at each house as well," said Dakin.

"We're touring five homes in Birmingham; one is a penthouse downtown, and we have a mix of styles from early American and English antiques," said Dakin.

Lunch is at the Birmingham Country Club.  Tickets are $40 in advance.  The cost if $55 if purchased on Friday.  For more information click on here.
