Fenton Man Killed In Dixie Highway Crash

FENTON (WWJ) - A 38-year-old Fenton man died Saturday afternoon when his truck collided with an SUV and struck a pole.

Police said the man was traveling northbound on Dixie Highway near Shorline Drive in Waterford Township in his 1993 GMC 1500 pickup when he, for an unknown reason, crossed over all southbound lanes of traffic and was struck by a 2008 Cadillac Escalade.

After the collision, the GMC pickup truck left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver, a 59 year old Clarkston woman, was not injured and there were no passengers in either vehicle.

Police said both drivers wore seatbelts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.

Anyone wiht information about the crash is asked to call Waterford police Sgt. Dolehanty at (248) 618-6057 or Sgt. Kazyak at (248) 618-6073.
