DEARBORN (WWJ/AP) –  After local gas prices dropped below $3 this fall, they’re creeping back up again. AAA Michigan reports that prices are up 6 cents per gallon over the past week to a statewide average of $3.28.  The auto club said on Monday the average is about 33 cents per gallon higher than last year at this time.

Of the cities it surveys, AAA Michigan says the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel is in the Saginaw and Bay City areas, at$3.19 a gallon. The highest average can be found in the Marquette area at $3.38.

In Metro Detroit, the best price is $3.09. According to GasBuddy.com, you’ll find that deal at service stations in Detroit, Novi, Clinton Township and Commerce Township (Details here).  The highest price in Metro Detroit is $3.79, found at the BP on Middlebelt at Wick Road in Romulus.
