Snyder & Bing Head On Transportation Trip...Together
DETROIT (WWJ) - This makes for an interesting flight -- Mayor Dave Bing and Governor Rick Snyder are both heading to Washington on Monday.
Today will be the first face-to-face meeting between Snyder and Detroit Mayor Dave Bing since Friday's announcement that the state will begin a review of the city's finances starting Tuesday.
"The governor and I will be together, we're going to Washington, D.C., and so we will have a lot of time to talk," Bing said.
And the purpose of the road trip: "We're going to talk to the Secretary of Transportation to talk about regional transportation," Bing said.
The mayor also said a number of committees are being formed to address the city's cash flow crisis.
"We will have representation from my office, we'll have representation from city council, from labor and from business. So we're setting up I'd say probably 8 or 10 different committees to start to work," Bing said.
