The rumors are flying that the Tigers are going after a starting pitcher. That pitcher is Gio Gonzalez from the Oakland A’s. Gonzalez who won 16 games last season with an ERA of 3.12 and a career ERA of 3.93. According to reports the Tigers would have to part ways with youngster starting pitcher Jacob Turner and according to our own Matt Dery the Tigers would also have to include Brennan Boesch. The question is would you give up Jacob Turner and Brennan Boesch to get Gio Gonzalez.

Update:

According to Lynn Henning’s Twitter the Tigers interest has collapsed due to the A’s wanting 3B Nick Castellanos in the trade. Castellanos is one of the Tigers top prospects and the Tigers are going to need help at 3rd base this season with an ageing Brandon Inge.
