Off Duty Highland Park Cop Injured In Accident On Woodward

HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ)- A Highland Park Police officer is hospitalized in serious condition after being involved in an auto accident Saturday morning.

Police tell WWJ's Chrystal Knight that the female officer was off duty when the accident occurred on Woodward near Manchester in Highland Park.

Police are not releasing information about how it happened but authorities tell WWJ that the man who was driving the other car involved in the accident has been taken into custody.

It's not know if alcohol was a factor, Michigan State Police continue to investigate the incident.

Police have confirmed that a Highland Park Police Officer has been involved in an auto accident on Woodward and Manchester.

Authorities have told WWJ that it happened sometime Saturday morning  and that the officer involved is a female who was off duty.

The condition of the officer is not known.

The accident is being investigated by Michigan State Police.
