Organized Search Ends For Bianca Jones, Father Prays For Safe Return
DETROIT (WWJ) - Organized search efforts are winding down for a missing two-year-old Detroit girl, allegedly taken in a carjacking more than a week ago.
Valerie Evans, of Detroit, helped police and other volunteers look for Bianca Jones Sunday on Detroit's east side.
"I have one daughter ... she's grown and if she were missing, I would want someone to, you know, do the right thing ... come out, volunteer, help, help her be found," said Evans.
WWJ spoke with the attorney for Bianca's father who said all his client can do is pray for the girl's safe return.
Terry Johnson says Deandre Lane cannot join in the search for the girl because he's gotten death threats from people who believe he had something to do with her disappearance.
And as those searchers combed the streets for what may be their last day, Bianca's father and his attorney were asking that they don't stop.
"We don't at this point think that anything has happened to her and that's why we are asking the good folks of metro Detroit to continue to search - even if it's not on an organized level - please continue to search," said Johnson.
