'Diners, Drive-Ins And Dives' Features Kid Rock, Union Woodshop

The "big time, small town" barbecue at Union Woodshop and Clarkston Union will be on national display tonight when The Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" airs a Michigan episode.

Kid Rock is a special guest on the episode, that features host Guy Fieri. Along the way, the two explore Kid Rock's own "Bad Ass Beer," which is created in Webberville.

What should viewers expect when the show airs at 10 p.m. Monday? Think crispy, cheesy goodness.

"We did our mac and cheese," said Union Woodshop co-owner Curt Catallo.

Will fans get the recipe? Not so fast.

"We told them a lot, but we didn't tell them everything -- We don't show them all our cards," Catallo said. "I'm just looking forward to people seeing how much Kid Rock cares about the community."

Kid Rock is known as a fan of the Union's fall-off-the-bone ribs and down home side dishes, so Catallo said he and his partners are honored.

"It's exciting," Catallo said. "Obviously, Kid Rock and Guy Fieri are guys who can be themselves on camera, so it's a great show. And we're just fortunate that we're on his radar. It's easy to forget about Main Street these days, so we're just very fortunate that he's bringing this kind of attention to Clarkston."
