Tigers Do Not Offer Will Rhymes A Contract For 2012

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers today announced the club did not tender a contract to second baseman Will Rhymes for the 2012 season.

Rhymes saw action with both the Tigers and Triple A Toledo during the 2011 season. In 29 games with Detroit, he hit .235 (20×85) with three doubles and two RBI. Rhymes batted .306 (124×405) with 17 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 24 RBI in 104 games this past season with Toledo.

Rhymes is now a free agent and eligible to sign with any of the 30 major league clubs.
