MSU 89, UMKC 54

EAST LANSING (WWJ) - No. 19 Michigan State rolled over the UMKC Kangaroos 89-54 Monday night at the Breslin Center.

Michigan State (10-2) jumped to a 40-20 lead as they finished the first half. UMKC (7-6) struggled offensively throughout the game - but showed a more competitive edge in the second half - scoring 34 of their 54 points.

Branden Dawson and Brandon Wood shared team high honors with 16 points each. Several Spartans contributing from the bench,  Adreian Payne had 11 points and Draymond Green put in 10 points and had 11 rebounds, in the lopsided win. Green scored his sixth double-double this season.

Trinity Hall scored a team high 16 for the Kangaroos and Kirk Kover knocked in 11 pts. UMKC had won six of their last seven games before the match-up with the Spartans.

The win gives the Spartans their 10th straight win -as Michigan State continues their homestand on Wednesday against Lehigh.
