Oakland Schools Selects Applied Technology Systems for Mechatronics Program: Franklin-based Applied Technology Systems, the sole distributor of Amatrol products in the State of Michigan was awarded a $295,000 contract by Oakland Schools for the acquisition and implementation of three Mechatronics Training Systems at the county's Northeast, Northwest, and Southwest Career Technical Centers. These mechatronics systems will allow students who attend these campus programs to learn the technology and skills required for the new manufacturing jobs. Mechatronics is the integration of mechanical, electrical, and computer controlled systems. These skills are in high demand by the Detroit Three and tiered automobile suppliers. Students will be able to take the skills learned at the county's career centers and receive articulated credits from local community colleges. Applied Technology Systems is a Michigan based full service manufacturer's representative serving the educational and industrial training needs.
