Semi Collides With Car, Kills Ann Arbor Man

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Northbound US-23 has reopened between M-14 and North Territorial Road, after an early morning crash left an Ann Arbor man dead.

WWJ's Pat Vitale reports the accident happened just before 3 a.m. Friday on US-23, north of the triple-decker intersection with M-14.

Police say the 22-year-old from Ann Arbor was pronounced dead on the scene after a semi truck crashed into his car. The driver, a 59-year-old man from Clio, was uninjured.

The roads were icy in spots after rain from Thursday froze overnight, but police are not ready to say whether the weather was a factor in the crash.

The northbound lanes of the freeway were shut down after the crash and remained closed for several hours.
