Go Green! Recycle That Christmas Tree

DETROIT (WWJ) – You can put your Christmas tree at the curb, or you can recycle your tree.

The Oakland Country Parks and Recreation has 11 park locations where you can drop your trees.

Trees are being accepted Monday through January 16th … from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The trees will be shredded into compost and wood chips.

Oakland County officials just ask that if you’re bringing a tree to recycle … make sure all the decorations are pulled from the tree, including tinsel.

Residents who recycle will get a free tree seedling. You can find Christmas tree recycling locations here.
