Terry Foster: Rodney Stuckey Gives Pistons Three-Guard Rotation, Which Has Worked In The Past
Some Pistons fans question why general manager Joe Dumars signed Rodney Stuckey to a three-year, $25 million deal rather than let him walk or sign him to a one-year qualifier.
Perhaps Dumars' past as a player should lend some answers. He won championships with a three-guard rotation, with Vinnie Johnson and Isiah Thomas. Most nights, the Pistons rode the coattails of Thomas and Dumars — they both developed into Hall of Fame players, especially Thomas, a perennial NBA All-Star.
