NAIAS Just Two Weeks Away

DETROIT (WWJ) - Just a couple of weeks until the North American International Auto Show at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit, and one industry analyst feels the show is as relevant as ever.

That's after some tough times in the auto industry and competing shows, but the executive editor of Cars.com, Joe Wiesenfelder, says he expects three dozen new autos to be introduced at this year's Detroit auto show.

"Detroit is huge, it's always huge, despite being in January in Detroit, it brings people from throughout the world," Wiesenfelder said. "And you look at Chicago, where actually Cars.com is headquartered; unfortunately that's in February in Chicago which is about as appealing weather-wise, and it just seems to get smaller every year."

Wiesenfelder says Nissan will be back at the Detroit show this year, although he says Land Rover won't , something he calls a mistake on its part.
