SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Police in Southfield are investigating the apparent drowning of a 3-year-old Detroit boy.

WWJ’s Ron Dewey reports the boy was found floating in the swimming pool at the Southfield Embassy Suites Hotel on Franklin Road around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday. It was not immediately clear how long the boy had been in the pool or if he was under any supervision.

Emergency crews performed CPR, but the boy was unresponsive. He was rushed to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police are now looking into the circumstances surrounding the drowning. The child’s name has not been released.
