Feed Your Brains With Tastey Whole Grains! (And More)

Since pre-school you've told your kids that they have to protect their heads by wearing helmets when they bike and rollerblade. Now, tell them that certain foods protect their brain, too.

These super foods are:

Whole grains. Find them in breads and cereal. The folate brings oxygen-rich blood to the brain.

Eggs. Remember they were called incredible? Well, that was more than an ad jingle. The choline boosts memory and concentration.  Also, it's an important element for creating the brain's neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

Go nuts especially with walnuts. Their omega-3s and omega-6s equalize the brain's serotonin levels. (Translation: Less mood swings.)

Berries contain antioxidants that can prevent brain cell damage and improve communication between brain cells. Serve tomatoes for a dose of lypocene. It's an antioxidant that fends off free radicals that lead to brain diseases.

When your kids make the connection between their brain and these superfoods, the knowledge just might blow their minds.
