Matt Dery's Daily Update 1-6-12

The Lions heading down to New Orleans, their first playoff game in 12 years as the team is a 10 ½ point underdog facing the 3rd seeded Saints. New Orleans is thinking of redemption after losing in the wildcard round last year to the Seahawks.
Jeff Fisher tells ESPN that he will likely return to coaching next season and has 2 options St. Louis or Miami and will make his decision in the next week.

Michigan wide out Darryl Stonum is going to jail. An Ann Arbor judge Charles Pope sentenced Stonum to 10 days in the slammer for another probation violation. This time Stonum ticketed for driving with a revoked license. Brady Hoke said yesterday that he wouldn't not have any comment until all the facts were known.

The Pistons take their 2-4 record into Philadelphia tonight, a date with Doug Collins and the Sixers who are playing their first home game after 5 straight on the road, the Sixers come in with a 3-2 record. Pistons will have some new starting back court, Rodney Stuckey is out with a sore groin and Ben Gordon will miss the game for personal reasons so Brandon Knight will start at the point. Austin Daye will start at shooting guard.
